Event Description : MUSIC "Can’t Help Falling in Love" with the Capital City Minstrels
Delhi’s distinctive choir, the Capital City Minstrels, returns this summer with a music repertoire to entertain audiences in Delhi and Gurgaon. The group will showcase a varied selection – pop, rock and world music - characteristic of their fun, diverse and eclectic style.
About the Music :
CCM’s summer concerts will have an audience of all ages clapping, singing and swaying! Spanning several decades and featuring some of the biggest hits, these are songs that are not just popular with music fans, but also include some of CCM's favourite songs over the years. The programme includes "Sweet Dreams", arguably the signature song of the 80's duo, Eurythmics, the wildly popular "It's Raining Men" by the Weather Girls, the chart topping 80s hit "Africa" by Toto, contemporary award winning numbers like "Royals" by Lorde, "Counting Stars" by OneRepublic; A.R Rahman's "Jai Ho" and of course the song that lends the concert its title - "Can't Help Falling in Love"!
CCM’s conductor since 2012, Carolin Remy, will lead the choir in her last set of concerts as she returns to Germany with her family this summer. The group will also be accompanied by Nise Meruno on piano, Suchet Malhotra on percussion, Martine Ketterl on recorder, and Jimmy Thang and Hannes Farrenkopf on guitar.

About CCM’s Conductor : Carolin Remy was born into a very musical family and learnt to play the piano and to sing when she was very young. She completed her teacher’s training at Eichstaett, Germany and became a music teacher for primary school. Due to her undying passion for music, she conducted several childrens’ choirs in schools and music schools in Germany. In 1999, Carolin became a certified choir director for non-professional choirs. Carolin came to Delhi in 2004 and has been teaching at the German School, New Delhi ever since. She is the conductor of the Children's Choir of the German School. She took over as Conductor of the Capital City Minstrels in January 2012, after being a member of the choir.
