Event Description : CHSJ, MenEngage Delhi, Women Development Cell Miranda House in collaboration with One Billion Rising and many other civil society partners are organizing three days Gender Mela.

It will be a celebration of the involvement of men and boys from the urban setting with the issues around the subject of masculinities and gender justice.

The college fests are the biggest attraction of Delhi colleges during the months of January and February, as right before the exams student seek some collective actions which will bring together all the students for camaraderie and greater learning and sharing. College festivals are largely planned and promoted as cultural extravaganzas with rich performances by music groups, in addition to other activities, such as games, debates, sports, etc. This year, CHSJ, MenEngage Delhi, Women Development Cell Miranda House, OBR, Action Aid and many other civil society partners and colleges want to expand the canvas and bring in issues of gender, social justice and masculinities to the fore. The planned fest- a Gender Mela will be a 3 days event where participants will come in to have fun, to dance, sing without inhibitions while engaging with complex issues and trying to unravel concepts and ideas around gender. The Gender Mela will comprise plenaries, discussions, debates, stalls, cultural performances and much more. The Mela will be a jamboree organized around the issues of Gender, breaking the stereotypes and setting up new examples.
