Event Description :
EXHIBITION ‘Trans-’ Indo-Korean Contemporary Group Art Show.

Ten Korean and Indian artists will be featured in the show : Narae Jin(Korea), Bokyung Jun(Korea), Goun Seo(Korea), Siren Eun Young Jung(Korea), Gagan Singh(India), Leena Kejriwal(India), Rakhi Peswani(India), Aditi Nagarath & B. Ajay Sharma(India) and Vandana K(India)

The exhibition uses feminism as stepping stone to reflect upon and understand alternative perspectives on issues of gender, identity, transnationalism, power, tolerance, environment, animal rights, cyborg and machine civilization, by using a variety of media such as painting, sculpture, photography, video/film and installation. This collaborative show aims to facilitate the broadening and exchange of perspectives, starting with gender issues, which have been discussed increasingly over the years, both in India and Korea. The exhibition has been curated by artist Narae Jin, co- founder of ETC (a Korean artist collective) and supported by Korean Cultural Centre India and LG India.

Narae Jin will present a media installation jointly produced with fellow Korean artists Myungseok Chae and Jeonghoon Lee. Goun Seo showcases her paintings on catastrophe, Delhi-based artist Gagan Singh will present his set of drawings titled ‘the problem with stairs!’ where he uses the metaphor of stairs to talk about his life in the city. Artist-poet duo B.Ajay Sharma and Aditi Nagarath use a mixed media installation to look at gender, sexuality and spirituality through one other’s standpoints. More artists from Korea and India explore multiple dimensions in our society.
