Event Description : Aarambh Waldorf School along with ‘LichtEurythmie Ensemble’ presents a Eurythmy performance by the world renowned Swiss group.
The production titled Bhakta Dhruva depicts the story of how the North Star came about and also involves a comparison of relationships between human beings and stars in the past and now.
In 1912, Dr Rudolf Stiener, an Austrian literature, scientist, artist and philosopher, brought a new art of movement into existence called ‘Eurythmy’. The word Eurythmy stems from Greek roots, meaning beautiful or harmonious rhythm. This form of movement is not a dance, nor a mime, but an art of movement, making visible speech and music. Eurythmy uses for its expression the most flexible of all instruments- the human body.
This is a performance for us all, all who enjoy art, music, movement.
In the context of pedagogy, Eurythmy enhances coordination and strengthens the ability to listen. When children experience themselves like an orchestra and have to keep a clear relationship in space with each other, a social strengthening also results.
