Event Description : In the ancient dance form of Kathak, Guru Munna Shukla ji is one of the few deep reservoirs of knowledge left! His very presence inspires an atmosphere of learning and joyous sharing!
Overwhelmed by the response we got from the Art Lovers for successfully holding these baithaks, we plan to hold this event in continuation of the previous baithaks and hence with great pleasure we request for your gracious presence at the forthcoming Kathak Baithak.
In this Baithak we see Guru ji in the unusual performer role as we share with you a rare video recording of Kathak solo by the Maestro himself. This will be followed by a discussion with Guruji.
The Baithak will be especially insightful for students looking to understand the deeper and subtler aspects of the dance form.
Background : Saraswati Music College has been holding the monthly sessions of Kathak Baithaks with renowned Guru Shri Munna Shukla ji since January,2015. These sessions are about Guru ji sharing with us his vision, rare memories, knowledge and understanding through his talks, lecture demonstrations, performances and compositions.
