Event Description : 
Anish Popli has choreographed a piece about the photos of the exhibition “Open- Mouthed” by the Spanish photographer Cristina Garcia Rodero, that will be performed by the dancer Hannah Katherine Vincent with music composed by Scott Bowley based also on the same photographs. 

About the artists: 

Anish Popli is a young and dynamic choreographer with a vision to match. A qualified software engineer, he gave up a lucrative career in the IT industry to follow his dream and put his focus and energy to fuel his passion for dance. He underwent rigorous training for several years, gaining not just technical knowledge of various forms of dance, but experience in direction and creative visualisation as well. He has trained in Jazz, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Contact Improv and the Latin American dance forms of Salsa, Bachata and Merengue. Constantly striving for personal growth and firm in his belief that learning is a continuous process, he underwent training in the UK, in 2010 and again in 2011 and 2012 
where he attended classes at renowned dance institutes like Trinity Laban, The Place, Pineapple Dance Studios, Greenwich Dance Agency, Siobhan Davies Dance, Danceworks,Phoenix Dance Theatre Rambert Dance Company and Richard Alston Dance Company among others, to understand technique and advance his learning. He has recently completed his MFA-Creative Practice/ Choreography from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London. In 2006, he founded Choreotheque Dance
Studio, a training ground for dance enthusiasts which now boasts of its own state-of-the-art in-house studio in New Delhi.

Hannah Katherine Vincent is a dancer trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance and graduated in 2008 achieving BPA Hons in Contemporary Dance. She finished studying at the Laban conservertoire studying the Post Graduate Diploma in Community Dance course in 2013. Until recently Hannah was living and working in London. She has worked for companies such as The Royal Acadmey of Dance, Step into Dance, East London Dance, Trinity Laban, South East Dance, London Dramatic Academy University and Community Focus. She has worked with choreographers such as Simon Birch, Hagit Yakira, Gary Lambert, Emmline Cresswell, Andile Sotiya, Merville Jones, Villmore James, Willi
Dorner, Jason Keenan-Smith and Candoco Dance Company to name a few. She started working on her choreography in 2013. Her first piece "The Black Lodge" has been performed at Laban, Brighton Fringe Festival and also The Place (Resolution 2014 season). Hannah's latest piece "Cymatics" was first performed at The Place, (Resolution 2015) and also at Footprint Dance Festival. Hannah was accepted for a years residency at Clarence Mews Studios to develop and explore her choreography into 2015. Her new choreography "Moving Portraits" was performed as a solo with video intergration at Clarence Mews
Studios.

Scott Bowley is a composer and producer from London. He graduated with a BMus(Hons) in Music from the University of Manchester before gaining an MMus with distinction in Sonic Art at Goldsmiths, University of London, supervised by Professor John Levack Drever and Patricia Alessandrini. Much of Scott’s recent output explores the relationship between sound and movement. Recent projects include Clubbing, an immersive audiovisual installation made from Boiler Room crowd footage, Tunnels, an audiovisual installation made from recordings made in subterranean London and Untitled (a Triptych), an interactive audiovisual installation in collaboration with choreographer, Anish Popli. Scott runs the
quadraphonic techno club night Smurf Steaks, DJs and presents on radio as BeeStings. Scott also plays bass in the band Crushed Beaks.

Cristina García Rodero has a graduate in painting from the Complutense University and is professor of photography there. Her works demonstrate her profound interest in human behavior, studying the practices and traditions that have survived through centuries and the new beliefs and social behaviors.
She has won many awards such as World Press Photo. She is member of Magnum. She has exhibited among others at MOMA, Biennale di Venezia, Prado Museum, Museum of Contemporary Photography,

George Pompidou....
