Event Description : Delhi Architecture Walks- Taking the Road Less Traveled: Architectural Secrets of Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg

Join us on our first in winter series of Delhi Architecture Walks for Taking the Road Less Traveled: Architectural Secrets of Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg as we walk through 600 years of architecture (14th- 20th century) in a stretch of just 1 Km!

The sprawling Firoz Shah Kotla fort, built by Sultan Firoz Shah Tughlaq in late 14th century AD, never ceases to amaze visitors with its numerous ruins. Be it one of the largest mosques of the 14th century AD, an Ashokan- era stone pillar piercing the sky, a Baoli (Step-well) or cells beneath the building platforms. The palace is believed to be inhabited by djinns.

On the other hand, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg is referred to as the Fleet Street of India due to the presence of prominent newspaper offices like The Times of India, The Indian Express, The Pioneer etc. The Marg reflects the stepping stone of modern architecture of post independent era in Delhi contributed by eminent architects like Raj Rewal, Habib Rehman and Achyut Kavinde laid on foundation of Nehru’s Vision.
