Event Description : "Crossing at Benaras Junction" An IDIA Fundraiser Theatre Performance in Hinglish
Written by Kaushik Basu, the play revolves around the life of Siddharth Chatterjee, a briliant and charming professor of philosophy whose love life that can only be characterised as fleeting. On the other hand, Sharma - a crony businessman begins a tourist venture to hoodwink foreigners, which he hopes will make him successful. These parallel stories converge on board, the Indian Railways as several eccentric characters make an eventful journey to Benares. Watch the hysteria unfold as members of India's pluarlist society come together on a journey.
Language - English & Hindi (Hinglish)
Cast : Students of NLU Delhi
Directed by : Swaroopa Ghosh
About the Event : This production has been put together by NLU-Delhi students for their love of theatre and serving a good cause and has been directed by renowned theatre and film actor - Swaroopa Ghosh. The event serves as a fundraiser for Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access (IDIA), a project for empowering marginalised communities by increasing access to legal education (visit www.idialaw.com and www.facebook.com/idialaw).
Along with the play, we will introduce the audience to IDIA and its vision. IDIA volunteers will be setting up fun merchandise stalls and organise pledge/donation booths.
