Event Description : Presented in association with Red Bull Media House & Only Much Louder, antiSOCIAL brings a special screening of ‘Standing By’, a series documenting the rise and growth of the independent western music "scene" in India. The documentary will be followed by a special performance by Zero, an alternative rock band formed in the late 90’s - a name we still remember.
Film : Standing By is an attempt to uncover and document the history of independent music in India. Through six episodes and a mammoth digital archiving effort, the series unearths some of the most interesting stories and events that were fundamental to the formation of the now thriving independent music scene in the country.
Music : Zero is an alternative rock band from Mumbai, formed in the late '90s. The band is comprised of Rajeev Talwar (vocals), Sidd Coutto (drums), Girish 'Bobby' Talwar (bass) and Warren Mendonsa (guitars). They are widely regarded as a pioneering and one of the best bands in the Indian rock music circuit. Though the band played their last "official" gig at Independence Rock 2008, the quartet gets together yearly for a reunion tour across the country. The band returns to perform shows across various venues in India when all four members are in the country at the same time. Since the commencement of the NH7 Weekender in 2010, Zero is known to perform secret sets at different editions of the festival.
