Event Description : This event jointly hosted by the Embassy of Israel and the Embassy of the United States of America is to commemorate the life and work of the Wall Street Journal correspondent Daniel Pearl (1963-2002).
The event will include a screening of the 2006 Emmy award nominated HBO documentary film The Journalist and the Jihadi: The Murder of Daniel Pearl directed by Ramesh Sharma who will introduce it.
A Panel discussion on Journalistic Freedom in the Age of Digital Media will follow, featuring:
-Gordon Fairclough, South Asia Bureau Chief, The Wall Street Journal.
-Praveen Swami, National Editor, Strategic and International Affairs, The Indian Express.
- Ramesh Sharma, Award winning film maker.
-Yoav Karni, Journalist and columnist, Globes Israel.
Moderator: Shashidhar Nanjundaiah, Dean, The India Today Media Institute.
