As time passes, some frictions arise between them and make insufferable coexistence in that small space. The salon will, thus, turning slowly in an unexpected battlefield. Amancay Tapia tells in Battlefield the story of five women who stay enclosed in a hair salon because of one of several marches in the city of La Paz. Women who do not know each other must try to survive one way or another, this little forced confinement. It is from there that Tapia seeks to establish certain relationships between women and present a vision not only of femininity, but also the country that hosts this small central hairdresser. Tapia seeks to describe somehow several prototypes of (bolivian) women: the chola, the young woman, a birlocha and an immigrant women. The interplay between these four characters is complemented by the role that Tapia own stars: the Spanish tourist. Some thematic repetitions seek to portray the country, such as the woman who emigrated to Spain seeking a better future, leaving more or less abandoned her family, the cocalero as a driver of social movements and above all, a certain claim in relation to the blade coca, summarized in the chorus of a morenada referring that "coca is not cocaine."
