Event Description : The Japan Foundation, New Delhi and the Chihiro Art Museum present "Chihiro Iwasaki and Picture Books of Japan" an exhibition of the works of Chihiro Iwasaki and other picture book artists from Japan.
Through this Exhibition, the audience will be introduced to her works, as well as those of other acclaimed picture book artists from Japan, and create awareness about their beautiful works of art that have brought great joy to the people of Japan and the world, inheriting their sincere wish for peace for children of the world. The exhibition also features works about the history of Japanese picture books from the 8th to the 20th century.

Chihiro Iwasaki (1918 -1974) was an acclaimed, award winning Japanese artist and illustrator of   children’s books. One of the most popular books illustrated by Chihiro Iwasaki is Totto-chan, the Little Girl at the Window. This is a children’s book written by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi and was published in 1981. (This book has also been published in Hindi by National Book Trust under the same title).
