Event Description : Teamwork Arts presents the return of Kahaani Festival this October 2015
The Kahaani Festival looks to explore the various forms of storytelling and bringing to life the imaginations of young children through the oral tradition of story-telling, magic, theatre, puppetry, dance, music and much much more.
The Kahaani Festival aims to promote learning and knowledge outside the classroom through the various art forms. Organized by Teamwork Arts, this marks the 5th year of the festival.
Speaking on the collaboration with Teamwork Arts and the Kahaani Festival Col Gopal Karunakaran, CEO, Shiv Nadar School says, “At the core of Shiv Nadar School, is a strong belief in the philosophy of ‘Education for Life’ i.e. learning that is holistic and not restricted to textbook knowledge, and which deeply connects to the world outside the school boundaries.
Kahaani Festival’s panorama is aligned with our beliefs in education i.e. on the value of experiences beyond the classrooms. We are happy to host the event at the Shiv Nadar School, Gurgaon, as we bring the festival to Gurgaon for the first time.”
Highlights of the Festival at Shiv Nadar School this year:
1. Tom Alter’s storytelling: Tom Alter narrates the stories of and about Jim Corbett. He share some anecdotes from his childhood, his education, his career in Cinema and his stint with Theatre.Enact scenes from his plays --- MAULANA AZAD, GHALIB, SONS OF BABUR, FATHER AND THE SON etc and will also talk about them.
2. Shameem (KuchKuch Puppet Theatre) - Pinocchio
3. Patang Bazi Workshop by Jamaluddin: Patangbazi is a workshop for children where children of all ages are told the story of kites and taught how to make and fly them.
4. Nathoo Lal Solanki - NagadaDhamaka (Workshop -Introduction to Nagada Drums)
5. JeevaRaghunathan – Storytelling session
6. Simple Dreams by Ishara Puppet Theatre Trust to name a few
