Event Description : Pujo Aaschey - Bengali Cultural Heritage, Idol Making, Food & Photo Walk.
Durga Pujo is beyond religion for Bengalis.
It is all about the shopping, rituals, competitions for the children and the many cultural shows; art, poetry and songs; and discussions on Rabindranath Tagore, particularly his works relevant to the 'Sharodiya' ambience. Experience first-hand such a programme's rehearsal which brings together the old and new, a marriage of heritage and modernity!
You will see how much closer the idols and the gigantic 'pandals' (Pujo Tents) are to completion with their exquisite decorations & lighting.
You learn about 'Mahalaya', ( falling on 12th Oct), its mythology, legends, anecdotes and how its connection with the 'All India Radio' evokes ‘Mishti’ (sweet) nostalgia, in the heart of each Bengali.
And you join us for the quintessential Bengali 'adda' (gupshup) sipping Bengali 'Chaa' (Tea) amidst the irresistible aroma of 'Phuchkaas' (Gol Gappas), Fish Chops & ‘Telay-Bhajas' (Veg-Fritters) and Biryani, Bengali-style!
Rouse the photographer, foodie and connoisseur in you…and feel the beat of a Bengali heart, its exquisite culture…just for a few hours join the fun...we promise you will be back for more!
(The presentation will be done in English, Hindi & Bangla!!!)
