Event Description : "Swaraah" A Production Based on Kathak Choreography by Rachana Yadav Kathak Studio.

“ ‘Swaraah’ – The path that I choose ……. the relationships that I nurture , The colours that I wear , As I celebrate life.
As I try and look for internal serenity amongst external cacophony.”

Conceptualised  & Choreographed by Rachana Yadav, the much appreciated SWARAAH, in its second performance,  will see, music composition by Susmit Sen (Founder member of Indian Ocean band )& Ustad Samiullah Khan.  Susmit who has also played the Guitar himself, has composed parts of the music for Swaraah.

Vocals have been rendered by Ustad Samiullah Khan & Parul Mishra, Tabla by Shri Kishore Gangani, Shri Pakhawaj by Mahaveer Gangani, Drums & Percussions by Varun Gupta & Sarangi is played by Ghulam Mohammad and Keyboard by Dhruv Kumar. Light design & executions by Govind Singh Yadav

Dancers include :  Shweta Mishra, Mukesh Gangani, Avinav Mukherjee, Anukriti Vishwakarma, Neeti Jain, Myra Khanna with Rachana Yadav.

About Rachana Yadav : A disciple of Aditi Mangaldas & Pandit Jai Kishan Maharaj. Rachana Yadav is the daughter of Smt Mannu Bhandari and Shri Rajendra Yadav , two of the most eminent names in the world of Hindi Literature. Her background helped in imbibing Indian Culture and Values and led to her pursuing her career in Kathak. Rachana started learning dance under the guidance of Shri Ravi Jain.

Rachana is the artistic Director of ‘The Rachana Yadav Kathak Studio’( RYKS) – an initiative in Kathak  and under this banner ,Rachana has been choreographing and performing  solos and group works, in India & Internationally,  for over a decade. Some of her major productions and choreographies like ‘Nirantar’ ; ‘Aradhya’ ; ‘Rhythms Of the Collective’ ; ‘Vaadya’  etc . have been highly acclaimed.
