Event Description : Delhi Karavan presents "An untold love story Aurangzeb and Begum Zainabadi" heritage baithak at Humayun's Tomb
Who doesn't know about Aurangzeb!
Aurangzeb the most hated, the most stonehearted Mughal King. The Mughal emperor whose only fame was killing his own brothers, nephews and imprisoning his own father ShahanShah Shahjehan.A human being so fanatic and cruel that he is the most read Mughal Sultan.A warrior whose entire life speaks of bloodshed. So much so even during his last days of life when he was around 80 years, he was in battle field killing his opponents mercilessly.
But was Aurangzeb born crule or circumstances made him so? Did he ever have a soft side for anyone?
Only few know that this heartless fellow also fell in love once! Just like his ancestors he too had put his sword and crown on her feet.....but that love story didn't last long and was never allowed to be written down. The name of the woman who melted his stone heart was Hira Bai aka Begum Zainabadi. It is said that she was the women of that time. She grew up in a kotha where her mother was a famous nautch girl. But when Aurangzeb looked at her beauty and aura, it was love at first sight. For a brief period, it was not blood but only love on his mind...
Delhi Karavan invites you to an evening of yet another untold love story. We will together dig out unknown facts and fit the pieces of puzzle which have for years intrigued us.Join us on this Karavan with a little courage, a tincture of passion for History and lot of love in your heart.
