Event Description : BOLD Delhi presents "WAR- Through War, we shall talk of Peace" Workshop by Ms. Aditi ( Peace Educationist), followed by interaction and networking amongst participants.
When we think of war, we often think of only physical violence and bloodshed. We often ignore the larger culture of language of war that supports and sustains the actual outbreak of violence. We overlook the way political discourse shapes public opinion in the direction of war.
In this month's BOLD event, 'WAR'- Through War, we shall talk of Peace, we will have a workshop by Aditi Rao to examine how language is used by political leaders to create panic, otherness, and distrust amongst communities. We will also explore questions of what it would take to change this, of how we might create a language of peace, starting with our daily lives.
Aditi Rao is a writer and peace educator, passionate about working with young people. Based in Delhi, she runs a youth program using arts for social change, facilitates creative and research writing workshops, and works as a consultant for NGOs in the field of education for peace.
