Come and discover your inner rhythm and the beat of your surroundings in the "Unite with Rhythm" workshop by Iranian Master percussionist Fakhroddin Ghaffari. Learn how to listen to yourself and others.

Iranian Master percussionist Fakhroddin Ghaffari and acclaimed French danseuse Lise Moulet will guide you along this beautiful journey in a workshop especially designed for busy professionals looking to find their musical aspect. In this three-hour workshop, we will learn:

·       Listen to the rhythm within
·       Train our ear to different modulations of rhythm
·       Understand what tempo does to the mood of a rhythm
·       How to listen to the underlying rhythm of a melody, enhance and accompany it
·       Play freestyle for the simple joy of creating music

Fakhroddin Ghaffari
Iranian born percussionist Fakhroddin Ghaffari has mastery over multiple Persian and Middle Eastern percussion instruments including his principal instrument, Tombak, as well as Darbuka and Daf. Earlier trained under his uncle, Tombak player Saeed Abbasi, he represents today the school of Tombak maestro Bahman Rajabi. Fakhroddin has lived in India for the past 13 years performing and collaborating with top musicians from throughout India and has shared the stage with artists such as Abida Parveen and Hansraj Hans. He has received his Bachelor, Master and M.Phil degree in Hindustani Classical Music from Delhi university and is currently working on his PHD. He founded the Viuna Music Ensemble with whom he has toured across the country in the festivals Sufi Darbar, Ruhaniyat, Jahan-e-Khusrau, Jamal-e-Begum-Akhtar and many more. Fakhroddin has spoken in seminars, both national and international, on Indian and Iranian music and percussion, the Raaga-Taal system of Indian Classical music and Music therapy. He has taught at the Lancers International School, a branch of Cambridge University, and has written many articles and translated several books on Indian music from English to Farsi.

Lise Moulet:
Lise Moulet is a multi-faceted dancer, choreographer and teacher from France. Her extensive dance journey started at a very early age with Classical Ballet and Modern Jazz and progressively led her to specialise in Middle Eastern and North Indian dance vocabulary. She currently trains in Kathak dance under the acclaimed Guru Pandit Jai Kishan Maharaj, eldest son of the Kathak legend, Birju Maharaj. 
In parallel, Lise works on contemporary choreographies that seek to harmonise and blend movements from Kathak and other dance forms she studied, including Persian and Arabic dance. Lise's studies and performances lead her to share her time between India, France and other parts of the world. She has performed on various stages internationally, notably in France, Belgium, Canada, India, Iran, Vietnam and Thailand. She was recently part of the 2014 Kalachakra concert in Leh, Ladakh, and was a speaker at the TEDx Janpath in New Delhi in early 2015.
