Sadhya – A unit of Performing Arts, is all set to give you an awe-inspiring and majestic piece on celebration of Liberation. Mr.Santosh Nair, a renowned artistic Director and choreographer, brings to you Jashn-e-Azadi. The journey of our independence is chronicled through Dance, narrating the period from Golden age to British rule, then to the liberating independence and finally to the present picture.
Jashn-e-azadi, traces our country’s journey from its golden age, to the British Rule, to the Independence-the progress thereafter, to the present scenario through the medium of Music & Dance.It brings to you the various emotions that reflect in this journey-peace & serenity of the golden age, the pain & humiliation of suppression, the passion of Independence, the enthusiasm of progress & the concern of the present.It also emphasizes the absolute need, at this point of time, for the nation to come together yet again, converting their concerns into actions.
Bringing together all the colors of Indian culture and diversity, Sadhya, in association with Nehru Bal Sangh presents Jashn-e-Azadi. It also emphasizes the absolute need for the nation to come together under one roof to convert the concerns into actions for a progressive realm. Jashn-e-Azadi will start with balancing act followed by showcasing a glimpse of how Indian suffered during British rule. And not letting you move from your seats, it will further have acts of Mangal Pandey, Rani ki Jhansi, Jallianwala Bagh incident, Kakori Kand, Gandhiji's Dandi March and Quit India Movement through music and dance.
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra- best known for writing and directing Rang De Basanti (2006), Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013), Aks (2001) and Delhi-6 (2009), has agreed to bestow his presence on the occasion and will be the guest of honour on the event.
On the Occasion, Santosh Nair said, “Independence is a moment of pride and glory for every Indian. It’s like a festival which should be celebrated with much more gusto. With an aim to instill in oneself the various emotions — reflecting the journey from peace and serenity of our golden age, through the pain and humiliation of suppression, to the passion for independence and the enthusiasm for progress of the present — we presented Jashn-e-Azadi.”

About Santosh Nair :
Santosh Nair's journey as a dancer began under the blessings of his father Shri Kalamandalam Padmanabhan in the year 1986 as a Kathakali dancer. He furthered his training at Kathakali centre under the able guidance of Shri Sadanam Balakrishnan. The strong urge to explore, feel and create, led him to learn Modern dance with Shri Narendra Sharmaji of Bhoomika Creative Dance Centre for next five years, performing and choreographing dance pieces in a most innovative and heart touching manner. The desire to incorporate varied and energetic movements into his dance style saw him learning the traditional dance of Orissa, Mayurbhanj Chhau under Guru Janmey Joy Sai Babu from 1995-2000.Trained both as a traditional and contemporary dancer, Santosh Nair has proved his excellence in the field of dance and choreography by creating a unique style of his own.In 1998 he initiated his own company by the name of Sadhya-a unit of performing arts which rests on the philosophy of tradition & innovation & has now established itself as one of the leading contemporary Indian dance companies of the country. Some of his famous productions are: 1) The Game of Dice 2) We Can make the difference 3) Chaitanya 4) Natraj-The Lord of Dance 5) A Doll's house by Henrick Ibsen.
