Event Description : antiSOCIALab episode 1 - A hands-on workshop on kitchen gardening
antiSOCIAL is a run of the land, a raw, un-programmed and un-regulated space and it’s always been part of our DNA to foster and encourage alternative endeavours. It is a space open to all possibilities, where incredible things are just waiting to happen. A wide-open canvas one can really indulge in their passions and inspirations in the form of music, cinema, and art.
With Season 2 of antiSOCIAL which has just begun, introducing #antiSOCIALab - a monthly series of fun & useful workshops. Our first workshop will be a hands-on session on kitchen gardening on Saturday, August 22.
A practical workshop on growing vegetables, fruits and herbs at home along-with how to be a successful gardener. Roll up your sleeves and get ready to learn the basics of designing and planning a garden; seeding, weeding, and harvesting; pest management; and composting. Not to expect too much theory, one will also create their own sapling pot, learn to identify seeds, and pick up the basics of companion planting. It’s guaranteed that you will not leave this workshop without getting your hands muddy!
Does bhindi grow from a seed?
What size gamla will a lauki plant need?
How much should I water my cucumbers?
Shall I speak to my karela plant in Hindi or English?
We’ll answer all of these questions and many more :)
Growing your own vegetables is both fun and rewarding. All you really need to get started is some decent soil and a few plants. But to be a really successful vegetable gardener — and to do it organically — you'll need to understand what it takes to keep your plants healthy and vigorous. Learn the basics on the 22nd.
What you’ll take away from this workshop:
Confidence to start your own edible garden
Excitement about plants
2 gobar pots: one seeded, one saplinged
