Short Synopsis: Masao is a sensitive nine-year-old boy sets out alone on the road to find his mother who he has never met. Soon he finds an unlikely protector and companion in a crotchety man and the two have a series of unexpected adventures along the way. A bittersweet road trip film about two people, who seem to have very little in common but end up befriending each other. This film was featured in the 1999 Cannes film festival.
