Event Description : DelhiByFoot presents "Dastaan-e-Jahanpanah" Lost & Found Tales of the Tughlaqs in Hidden 4th City of Dilli!

Mohammad Bin Tughlaq, the 'eccentric' Sultan is best known for having shifted the capital of Hindoostan from Dilli to Daulatabad near Aurangabad in Maharashtra.
But what happened to the city that he built & lived in before moving to Daulatabad? Where is it now? And why did his brother leave behind the 4th city and make a new abode, the 5th city of Ferozabad (Ferozshah Kotla)

While the city toiled under its 'mad' sultan, the people had no one to turn to for spiritual salvation, other than the 'mureed' (Spiritual Successor) of great Sufi Saint Khwaja Nizamuddin Auliya, Khwaja Hazrat Roshan Nasiruddin Chiragh-e-Dehlvi, the last of the 3 major Chisti Sufi Saints who lived, taught & died in Delhi!

Join DBF this sunday morning to know more about the 4th medieval city of Dilli, which flourished 650 years ago, the interesting tales of the Tughlaq dynasty and listen to hazaar stories of the 'madness' of the Sultan Mohammad Tuglaq while you end the walk by immersing yourself in the 'Sufi tassawuff' of Delhi's best-preserved secrets, the dargah of Sufi Saint, Naseerudin Chiragh-e-Dehlvi...

HIGHLIGHTS:
1) Explore a unique 14th Century Mosque whose domes, pillars & overall structure make it an Architect & Photographer's delight!
2) Experience the wisdom of town & water planning methods of 700 yrs ago with a visit to the earliest barrages used to control inflow of water into the city.
3) We end our visit with a 'Salaam' at the Dargah of the 4th city's resident Sufi Saint,
4) Breakfast options for those interested in a quick bite!
