Event Description : "The Day of Hungarian Poetry" Lecture on János Arany by Dr. Margit Köves

János Arany (1817-1882) left one of the most lasting corpus of work in Hungarian literature as an essayist, critic and translator of drama. His poetry and epics reflect the unattainability of balance between the ideal world and reality. The variety of Arany’s work and his engagement with aesthetics, tradition and poetic language explain why his work is selected on the Day of Hungarian Poetry. 

On the literary evening Arany’s work will be recited in Hungarian, Hindi and English.
