Antal Szerb (1901-1945) was a sensitive, reserved, lonely man whose life was connected in many ways with books and libraries. He liked to read in the library of the British Museum and the University Library in Budapest, similarly to his protagonist Bátky in Pendragon-legend. The literary evening that coincides with the 70th death-anniversary of Antal Szerb, a number of Szerb’s novels, short stories, his favourite poems and characters from the world literature will be presented by students of Hungarian language and literature.
