Event Description : Parvatiya Kala Kendra presents "Vivek...Amaratva ki Aur" Hindi Play.
This performance will give us an insight of who Swami Vivekananda was and how and lived his life. At such a young age he emerged as a leader of the youth by dint of hard work, tireless effort, selflessness, and other noble traits. He continues to influence the imagination of strong India and remains a beacon of light for us.
Brief Summary : Vivek…Amaratva ki Aur –attempts to explore the time period of Swami Vivekananda through his journey and acquired experiences in the Himalayas. A major section of that timeline was of his experiences in Almora, Dehradun, Nainital, the Garhwal region and his journey to the Amarnath cave. He was a visionary, a leader but still a man who constantly rediscovered himself in all types of adversities. In spite of his fading health he made the arduous journey to the Amarnath cave and that to in 1890s when there was no infrastructural development in that region. The group aspires to dramatize this journey of a visionary man who was well versed in literature, music, languages and fine arts. To visualize this seemingly deep and dry subject of spirituality, songs, dances and folk traditional arts were imbibed in the narrative of his story.
Spirituality and religion needs to be accessed in a fresh perspective through the usage of folk songs, dances, costumes and performance styles. This is the primary theme of this intended project based on the life and experiences of Swami Vivekananda (in the Himalayas)…
