Event Description : "Frame / Frame" an exhibition of Paintings by Malvika Jain.
Art has always been an integral part of me. In my works, I juxtapose geometric forms along with lines , textures, movements and colors according to my experiences, surroundings and imagination. Art in my perception is a discovery of oneself from within. It is a compilation of feelings with a tint of colors and a blend of lines. In my show titled ‘FRAME/FRAME, I am showcasing the artworks capturing the elements and the experiences I have been through at various levels of my life. They are not specified under one subject or title. The treatment in my works also varies with time and my moods. My thought behind every work is self explanatory and is not predefined. I work according to my gestures and instincts which by default are the floating images of an unconscious or a distracted state of mind. A harmony of colors and lines is certainly observed in my set of works. They are like a metaphor suggesting simple things on a whole. As a spectator, I try to construct a relation brewing towards my depiction of ideas in my works.
Malvika Jain ,Delhi is a painter & a print maker as well. In her first solo show, she showcases the stories weaved by her at various stages of life and work. Malvika holds a masters and a bachelors degree in print making(2014) and painting(2012) respectively from College of Art, Delhi. A recipient of Ministry of Culture, Young Artist Scholarship 2013-14, has been selected and participated in various shows at renowned galleries namely Lalit Kala Akademi, Delhi , Sahitya Kala Parishad, Dhoomimal Art Gallery, Delhi , AIFACS, Delhi and many more. Also she has attended Garhi Workshop in 2012 along with other workshops at Sahitya Kala Parishad, FMG Group of Institutions and Lalit Kala Akademi. She lives and works in Delhi.
