Event Description : Delhi Karavan presents "Delhi's Secret Lakes - Nature Karavan in Asola Bhatti Wild Life Sanctuary!!"

In 1876,Carr Stephen noticed an old Fort some 5 Kms away from Surajkund. A century later, Archaeological Survey of India started excavating the area and found an historic settlement. A proper research revealed that at this very place a village was established by Raja Harshvardhan, who, some say, later assumed the title of Raja Anangpal and established a city, what we today call "Delhi".
Raja Anangpal bulit a fort and a water reservoir attached to a sluice dam in the middle of a dense forest, rich with scenic beauties and natural resources. This settlement, which can be called the predecessor of Delhi came to be called as Anangpur and the dam is called Anangpur Dam.
There many stories behind this location being chosen and for his successor, Anangpal II's son, Raja Surajpal Tomar to establish a bigger pond near it, "The Surajkund".

This time, our Karavan will rise above the pages of history and heritage talks and will advance to discover the hillock in the middle of Asola Forest. Our fellow trekkers can keep themselves ready to see lakes that will appear from absolutely nowhere make the most picturesque landscape. For those who love being close to nature look forward to enjoying of the flora and fauna of wild in the middle of our very own Delhi.
For those who love photography we offer you a picture perfect place.

So for all those adventure loving people who look forward to spending a warm day with your friends and near ones please join on the 22nd Feb Sunday for a beautiful treak and lots of fun besides fresh water lakes.

The walk shall be led by extremely gifted Mir Syed Mohammad Qasim, a history and heritage lover, naturist, wildlife photographer . Apart from his work, he prefers to spend time creating stories by the medium of his beautiful pictures.
