Event Description : Textile Art Designs Exhibition 2015.
The exhibition called Zephyrus is inspired by ‘Ode to the West Wind’ by Percy B. Shelly. Prof. Kripal Mathur studied at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad and has been a design educationist at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi since the last 23 years.
The collection of artworks exhibited here has a multi-pronged approach to Art and Design. Traditional crafts like tie-dye, felt making, embroidery, appliqué and patchwork, tufted carpet weaving and Persian Soumak weaving have been used in an innovative manner. Some textile art pieces have been printed by a hand-etched printing technique only used by Prof. Kripal Mathur in India.
