Event Description : Changelooms With.in "Youthsav" Celebrating Youth Leadership for Social Inclusion.

Youthsav announces the arrival of 100​ passionate, creative and commited youth leaders, all set to unleash their potential for social change. These ​100 Changeloomers from different socio-economic & geographical backgrounds are coming together in a launch event. Their social inclusion ​projects range from gender, education, identity, livelihood, youth development, communal harmony, caste-based exclusion, and so on. Changelooms With.in ​will also ​be unveiling its campaign "Bas! Stop Discrimination Right Now​" in this event. The evening would be followed with the riveting ​live ​musical performance of Kabir folk songs by Bairag Kabir, Kaluram Bamaniya. 

Changelooms With.in is an inside out leadership journey that encourages, recognizes, and supports young leaders (Changeloomers) to achieve their potential to lead social change initiatives. Through this program, the Changeloomers will get exciting opportunities for intensive learning, inspiration, mentorship, visibility, and fund-raising. It is run jointly by ComMutiny -  The Youth Collective and Pravah and supported by Poorest Areas Civil Society Programme (PACS) and supports 100 youth leaders and their initiatives on social inclusion from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar. 

Rajan Khosla, spokesperson of PACS says,  “The Changelooms With.in programme is a leadership journey that recognizes, supports and mentors young leaders to lead social change initiatives. The programme is implemented jointly by ComMutiny - The Youth Collective and Pravah and is supported by PACS.  PACS is very proud to support these 100 young leaders and their initiatives on social inclusion through this program.  Young people are a very important constituent in society - their energy, enthusiasm and empathy has real potential to make a positive difference in their communities. Through the Changelooms With.in journey we are sure that they will successfully use their passion and creativity to bring about social change."

​Arjun Shekhar, spokesperson from CYC says, The "Changelooms With.In" program logo is that of a person with a megaphone.​ The whole idea of the  program is that ​these 100 youth leaders, through their social inclusion initiatives will be a megaphone and spread the message of putting a stop to all kinds of discrimination. So these 100, will be a megaphone, and reach out to 1 million and the effect keeps multiplying."

Bas!Stop Discrimination Right Now: A Social Inclusion Campaign on wheels​

 Bas!Stop...Discrimination Right Now is a campaign on wheels  calling out young people to engage, inspire and take a stand for social inclusion. The campaign addresses social inclusion through dialogues and engagement in everyday spaces and amplifies insights on inclusion that emerge from the ‘Changelooms With.in program.

The bus is visualized as a moving symbol of young people’s commitment to inclusion and social justice. It is a reminder and example of the need for spaces for meaningful dialogue.  This moving Megaphone bus has a campaign look which is youthful and evocative, with bold messaging on social inclusion, a youth expressions and calls for action.

The campaign will incorporate  social inclusion as a theme that needs immediate mainstream attention, make visible the action projects of cohort of 100 Changeloomers who are doing fantastic work on the ground, make a case for the ‘Changelooms With.in’ kind of programming through which these real heroes are being supported.

About ComMutiny - The Youth Collective (CYC), Pravah and Poorest Areas Civil Society ( PACS)

ComMutiny – The Youth Collective (CYC) promotes and protects the rights of young people for participation, development and leadership. CYC was set up in 2008 by a team of independent professionals and organizations to facilitate the engagement of youth in social change action. It is a collective of nearly 50 youth led and youth engaging organizations that work in collaboration to promote youth leadership and create 5th Spaces across the country.CYC builds understanding, acceptability and demand for a space beyond the four legitimate social ‘spaces’ of family, livelihood/education, friends, leisure across stakeholder groups.

Pravah is an organization based in Delhi, which works with young people to impact issues of social justice through youth citizenship action. Pravah works with adolescents, youth and diverse groups like youth organizations and institutions working directly with young people by focusing on the skills of reflection, self-awareness, analysis, conflict resolution and citizenship.

Poorest Areas Civil Society (PACS) programme is an initiative of the UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID). The programme works with socially excluded groups in India to for ensuring uptake of their rights and entitlements while addressing issues of differential access. The socially excluded groups that the programme focuses on are; scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, Muslims, women and people with disabilities. PACS works in 7 states across 90 districts in close collaboration with partner Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
