Event Description : "The Aryans" documentary film screening.

This 18:15 minutes documentary, written and directed by Ranjan Kumar Singh, traces the history and culture of Brokpas, who are confined to only four villages, namely Dha, Hanu, Garkhone and Darchic in Ladakh, India. All these villages lie along the River Indus. Two of these - Darchic and Garkhone - are located close to the Line of Control and are often faced with hardship because of the prevailing political conditions. The Brokpas take pride in their Aryan identity while claiming to preserve the purity of the race. They have nothing in common with the rest of Ladakh. As their fair complexion and well-built physique is in total contrast to other Ladakhis, so is their customs and value systems. For years they have been guarding their purity by preventing inter-caste marriages and limiting the choice of their marriage within the four villages. The film has been extensively shot in Darchic, an otherwise inaccessible location for general tourists.

The film produced by M/s Parijat features Ross Huguet and Bobbi Owens (both USA) as voice overs artists. Ross has extensive experience and commercial credits that include Toyota, Walt Disney, McDonalds, Honda, Sears, Mother’s Against Drunk Driving, Sapporo and The Discovery Channel. He is also known for Hitchcock's Gun (2013, Wine, Women, & Cognac (2014) and See No Evil (2014). Bobbi has been a featured reporter on several syndicated radio programs reaching over 17-million listeners, and is regularly heard on: ABC, CBS, FOX Radio, Business Talk Radio, and other syndicated programs across the U.S. She also has numerous stage and independent film credits.
