Event Description : Sadhana Kala Sangh presents "Alag Alag Raahein" Hindi play in five acts by Lalit Mohan Thapalyal.
Alag Alag Raahen pits an aging freedom fighter and follower of Mahatma Gandhi against two strong opposing forces. On the one hand is the corrupt world of cut-throat politics and money power, with the apathetic common citizen ready to take recourse to dishonest means whenever necessary, to survive in this scenario. At the other extreme is the view that such ills of society can only be redressed through violent means. When Hari Bhai, a college principal living a quiet life of Gandhian values and contentment, witnesses a crime in a marketplace, not only his courage, integrity and principles, but also those of his family, are tested to their limits. The play, it seems, was a result of the playwright's cogitations on the crisis of morality facing India. “Khote sikke ka chalan zyaada ho gaya hai,†he once told a reporter who asked him what changes he found on his return to the country after nearly twenty years of living abroad.
