We at DBF will converge on the streets and Haveli of the great Poet, a week before the great Urdu Shayar, Mirza Asadullah Khan Ghalib's 217th birth anniversary for a celebration of all things 'Mirza Ghalib'...

Join us for an unique "Cultural Heritage Baithak" focusing on the 'Shayari' (Poetry) and life of the great poet, probably one of the greatest "Shayar" to have lived in our city of Delhi and ever walked on this planet...

An informal chat session at a nearly 160 year old Chawri Bazar Haveli...Chai ki chuskiyon ke saath...subah ki Old Delhi ke mandiron ki ghantiyan ke awaaz...azaan ki dastak...we will visit Ghalib's Haveli and continue our chat with perspectives of his times, shayari recitals, anecdotes of the Poet's wit & humor...share and learn from you a understanding of the true spirit of 'the Mirza Sahab' as he was popularly called in the alleys of Shajahanabad...

 Highlights of event:
1) Ghalib-nama... 'Sher-o-Shayari' session in courtyard of a nearly 160 years old haveli of Chawri Bazaar.
2) Explore the haveli where the 'Mirza' lived in the bylanes of Ballimaran, in Old Delhi
3) You the participants are welcome to share your links with Ghalib in our modern times and recite your favourite Ghalib couplets.
4) Learn about the life, culture and times of Ghalib's stay in Delhi
5) Traditional "Delhi6" style breakfast snacks and tea will keep us all happy & full!
The presentation will be done mostly in Zabaan-e-Dilli - 'Hindi and Urdu'
