Event Description : Shri Ram Centre presents "Connections" 2nd edition of International Performing Arts Festival.
"Where Cultures Dialogue"
The festival aims to build bridges between different worlds, art forms, artists, the past, the present and the future. It is not just about a coming together of cultures and epochs, but also about crossing artistic borders of all sorts emphasizing a 'new kind of creativity', which goes beyond the traditions and maybe approaches the universal, that essence which links everything.
Schedule :
8th January 2015 :
A journey through dance & music between Europe & Argentina.
Duration : 1 Hour
9th & 10th January 2015 :
'Heaven & Earth' a coming together of European classical dance, Bharatanatyam, Tango, European and Indian classical music & Electronic music.
‘Heaven and Earth’ with the conception and artistic direction of Ms. Rukmini Chatterjee. Assisted by: Bruno Bouché from the opera of Paris
Dancers from the opera of Paris will come together with Bharatanatyam and tango dancers to celebrate the universality of emotions.
This pluralism is reflected in the choice of musicians as well: an Indian percussionist, French cello and violin players, an accordion player and an acoustician who will bring forth an electronic and contemporary sound to the whole piece.
