Event Description : Shubhendra & Saskia Rao Foundation Presents Music by Children, For Children.
The Shubhendra and Saskia Rao Foundation creates awareness of the importance of music in our lives by taking music to public places. The ‘Music4All’ program is unique in teaching classical music traditions in a way that appeals to children and their parents using its own, internationally acclaimed curriculum. It is based on the belief that our classical music should not be a luxury enjoyed by an elite few but by all and taught in a fun way that connects with children and parents of today.This children’s day we organize a musical carnival with fun games, drawing, songs and other activities that will occupy children of varying age groups in a fun and positive way while learning. We also provide advice for aspiring musicians and parents by the biggest experts in the field: Sanjay Rikhi Ram, India’s best sitar maker , world renowned artists Pt Shubhendra Rao, Saskia Rao de Haas and others. On the main stage we have a concert and interactive music sessions hosted by Richa Anirudh. The performers are: the three child prodigies, Ishaan, Zargam and Ishita on piano, tabla and vocal. This is followed by the Music 4 All choir and orchestra, made up of children of the Hope project and Aadi, Aradhaya, Anohita, Advay, Avni, Krish, Leo Hayashi, Ojas, Sushmit and Udit. Come and join us with the entire family this Children’s day!
About the Organization : The Shubhendra & Saskia Rao Foundation is a nonprofit organization that stands for 'Music as the birthright to every child'. The founders of this Foundation are internationally renowned artists Pandit Shubhendra Rao and Saskia Rao-de Haas. Shubhendra and Saskia Rao Foundation is their way to share the knowledge they have about the various music and the best way of learning them. The Foundation is currently working with over 150 school children from the Nizamuddin Basti to empower them through music, conduct outreach programs for adults, teacher training and organize music events and concerts throughout the city.
