Event Description : "Romance With Nature" a solo show of Artworks by Surya Prakash.
Surya Prakash has enriched his art by his intimacy with the elements of nature. This fact is
borne out by his pristine nature landscape paintings that has established him with a unique
designated signature. By painting the most ubiquitous aspects of nature as bare tree trunks, dense forests, weeds, wild flowers, pools of rain water, reflections of the sky and the wild grass – elements of utmost simplicity, has given the aesthetics of his art a new visual play made possible by his creativity and emotional reach and feel.
The meticulousness and careful attention to details which is at the heart of his works defines also the contours of his persona. In the spaces between his silences articulating his thoughts into words he can be read a philosopher who has experienced the world, internalized it and finds visualization in the pouring forth of his forms on the canvases or paper. He says, “There is nothing imaginative in my work, everything that I render is what I have seen and experienced”. With empiricism playing a seminal role in the construction of his ideas and paintings, there is no denying that it is the pristine world enjoyed and assimilated that ultimately finds space in his art.
Artist’s intense sense of visual and intelligent observations in translating it materially through colours and appropriate brush strokes is unimaginable and commendable. It is in the planning of these varied elements that the art of Surya Prakash stands distinctly apart from other contemporary painters. For Surya Prakash it is a well balanced combination of the internal journey of his experiences with nature together with his emotions, feelings, sentiments and desires that manifest a sense of holistic completeness.
