Event Description : Christmas is celebrated in different ways throughout Central and Eastern Europe. Commonly, the festivities in most of the regions begin with the period of Advent, which is four weeks prior to Christmas and the feast of Saint Nicholas on the 6th of December. On this day, known as Mikulás Day in Hungary, when children set their shoes or boots out overnight to get fruits, nuts, candies from the old Mikulás. Like the past three years, He will be coming to the lawns of the Hungarian Centre to give out presents to over 100 underprivileged children.
