Amrita Sher-Gil, one of India’s most eminent painters, born in Hungary of aHungarian mother, died at the age of 28, but left behind a rich legacy. Oxford University Press celebrates the genius of this avant-garde artist with a new book, edited by Yashodhara Dalmia.
The book release will be followed by a presentation on the artist by a British art historian, G.H.R. Tillotson ‘Amrita Sher-Gil, Paris, Bloomsbury Group’ and a screening of Ebrahim Alkazi’s rare film on Amrita.
