Event Description : "Parchhayiyaan - A tribute to Sahir Ludhyanvi" a musical Hindi play.

Parchhayiyaan is not just a musical play, it is a tribute to life and work of Sahir Ludhyanvi, the famous poet and lyricist. The narrative of this drama is a beautiful blend of dialogues, Sahir's easy to understand poetry, popular songs, dances, visuals and intelligent lighting. All of this amalgamated together makes for great entertainment. It revolves around two characters - Sahir and She, wherein She represents his lifelong bachelorhood and the roller coaster of his love affairs - essentially the emotional side of the poet and the strength he gains from the vicissitudes of life. The story is told by Sahir, played by veteran actor Tom Alter, himself. The narrative of the script takes you expertly to the changing and challenging times of the mid-20th century, the impact of Second World War, struggle for independence followed by the havoc of partition and its socio-politico effects on the common man. Parchhayiyaan is written and directed by Suhail Akhtar Warsi, an Urdu poet, lyricist and script writer who has worked closely with maestros like Kaifi Azmi and Javed Akhtar.
