Event Description : The Turkish Embassy and the Art Spice Gallery are hosting an art show titled “On The Edge Of The City” to commemorate Turkey’s National Dayand the 100th birth anniversary of the novelist Orhan Kemal. The exhibition will showcase an exclusive collection of paintings by award-winning artist, Serdar Leblebici. “On the Edge of the City” is a collection of 32 paintings inspired by the novel, “Cemile” written by renowned Turkish Novelist Orhan Kemal. The artist, Serdar Leblebici, has brought to life the challenging life struggle in Çukurova during the 1930s in the Turkish Republic established by Atatürk through oil paintings on canvas in different dimensions. Come celebrate the Turkey’s National Day and take a walk down history through the medium of art .

About Serdar Leblebici
Serdar Leblebici was born in Izmir in 1961. He graduated from the Department of Textile Design in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Izmir Dokuz Eylül University in 1984. He then worked with painter Yavuz Seçkin. In 1989, Leblebici went to France, and studied painting in Paris and Avignon. He has had many solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad, especially in the US, France and Austria.
Between 2004 and 2009, Leblebici participated in the International Fine Arts Exhibition with Turkish Delegation, which was held every year in the Carrousel Salon of Louvre Museum. In 2006, he received a bronze medal in the category of painting at Louvre Museum. Currently, Leblebici continues his work at his workshop in Izmir.
