Event Description : "Made in India" a solo exhibition of ceramics by Anju G. Maurya.

‘MADE IN INDIA’ is about true fragrance of ethnicity, sense of caring, feeling of love, glory of history, & pride of rich culture, which is inhibited in me since my birth. When I was kid I used to play with terracotta toys and I shared a very emotional bond with them. Those dolls were reflection of my childhood and my culture. There were lots of emotions attached with them. Those toys were breakable and that’s why I was really possessive and protective about them. Playing with them evokea sense of responsibility; to take care of them.

Today toys are more about fashion, & durability; with lack of Indian tradition, and senses. There is a change in culture and general behavior of human beings, be it kids or adults. It is the impact of globalization that everyone is missing indigenous styles; Traditional Indian elements like clothes and jewelry have become antique. This show speaks about those contrast feelings, and an energy of inspiration &motivation which took us towards our own Made in India.
