Event Description : Jazz performance by Julie & Rohit.

Rohit Gupta a Delhi keyboard player collaborates with New York vocalist Julie Hill. Julie is a current faculty member at Global Music Institute, where she met Rohit. Together they re-imagine jazz standards by Porter and Gershwin, give a new spin to hits from today, and jam on brand new original material.

Julie Hill
New York Public Radio (WQXR) calls Julie Hill "truly magical." As a recent graduate of the Manhattan School of Music with a degree in Classical Composition, Julie is currently the voice faculty at Global Music Institute in New Delhi, India. Favorite projects include: a recent indie pop/ rock album with producer Dan Saa, performances of her original compositions with the Philadelphia Ballet and at Yale University, performances with the Dessoff Choirs at Radio City Music Hall and Carnegie Hall, and a national tour as Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz" (American Family Theatre).

Rohit Gupta
Born in Delhi, Rohit started playing the Piano at the age of 14. Since his formal studies in music started much later, he explored his instrument listening to Indian Classical and playing with a Fusion Ensemble in high school. While he was studying literature in college, he started performing within the delhi university circle at various festivals and events. Soon he started composing music for Theatre. He played for several Theatre festivals and Musicals. His exposure to music while playing with these setups helped to develop his passion to learn. He attended various workshops, Short-term programs and later studied at 'Swarnabhoomi Academy Of Music' under famous musicians from all over the world. As a composer he leads his own trio. His music is influenced by Jazz and World music.
