Event Description : India World Cultural Forum presents "Naatya Sandhya -6" a special program on Festival of Lights - Deepavali.
3 different art forms Artists from 3 different states :
Kathak dance by Simran Godhwani (Bangalore)
Bhartanatyam dance by Kamalika Banerjee (Delhi)
Odissi dance by Ananya Mukherjee (Kolkata)
The objective of this programme is to identify and promote talented young artists of the country in the field of classical dance. Identifying and promoting talented young artistes is one of the assured means of preserving the traditional arts in live practice. It is in this backdrop that IWCF has initiated this programme to encourage young talent in the field.
The event is held under the aegis of IWCF to promote and create a cultural awareness and appreciation of our own classical arts especially among youth. The programme showcase eight classical dance forms namely Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi, Kuchipudi, Mohiniattam, Manipuri, Sattriya and Kathakali.
It is a solo classical event where artist perform on recorded or live music. The programme features 3 different art forms from 3 different states and the duration for each art form is 30 minutes.
