Event Description : Exhibition of hand painted Procelain & China by Deepa Oberoi
The 2014 collection of Deepa Oberoi provides an excellent opportunity to view and acquire rare and exclusive hand painted bone china and porcelain. The collection carries a range of English, German & Japanese bone china and porcelain which has been individually selected and painted. On display are beautifully designed plates, lamps, vases and wall hangings which would lend an air of elegance and exclusivity to any home. Deepa has learnt the art of china painting in London from well known teacher Dorothy Fredrick and also through seminars held by artists and masters like Barbara Salisbury a Meissen painter, Carlos Spina of Argentina and Jim Skerret an expert in animal painting. Deepa has been
teaching this art for 30 years and has held exhibitions all over India, Hongkong and Dubai. Deepa paints the soft English method, also Meissen, and the French method called Dresden, which entails painting then baking in a kiln at a very high temperature. This act of baking causes the paint to permeate beneath one layer of glaze on to the China. The glaze then forms a protective layer over the painted China & protects it from water & dust. The finished product retains its luster for a long time.
