Event Description : Gati Dance Forum presents "Revisiting Fundamentals" a dance workshop by Mandeep Raikhy.
The class looks at dance through the lens of movement principles, patterns and body connections. Starting with conditioning the body through pilates and enlivening the various senses through improvisation and contact work, the class will then enable its participants to carry this awareness and sensitivity into movement combinations. This class is an ideal kick-start for the day for dancers and other movement practitioners. Open to professional dancers!
Mandeep Raikhy began studying jazz at age 19 at the Danceworx, New Delhi, and his subsequent interest in contemporary dance took him to London where he completed a BA (Hons) in Dance Theatre at Laban. Between 2005-09, he toured extensively with Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company, London. Mandeep has lived in New Delhi since 2009 and has created and toured 2 full-length works: Inhabited Geometry (2010) and a male ant has straight antennae (2013).
