Announces second gig with curated visuals at the Cafe Out Of The Box in Hauz Khas Village
Continuing their streak of innovative performances, Anantara and Art Collide are coming together again at Cafe Out Of The Box to create “Anantara: The Art Collide Experience”, a stunning and riveting experience with rousing original music and stunning visuals.

Anantara (www.facebook.com/soulfofanantara) has already had a slew of successful gigs at The Living Room, Shankar Market (for an urban revival project), Matchbox Cafe, Roost Bistro.
Kalyaani (songwriter, vocals, guitar), Vikrant Thakur (lead guitar, harmonica), Pankaj Varma (bass guitar, flute), and Hursh on the drums, have teamed up with Pankaj Mullick, founder, Art Collide (www.facebook.com/artcollision) to create a mesmerising audiovisual experience.
“We always felt that we had a lot of space for evocative imagery to accompany our music. Our experience has been that the sensory addition of video art that syncs with our lyrics and melodies creates a fuller, more memorable experience and Art Collide has delivered just that. Keep watching; we will be doing much more with them,” says Kalyaani.

Anantara was born in July 2008 with Kalyaani and Vikrant joining forces and they soon found a shared love for the environment and animals. This love reflects in their music, bringing alive the music of the hills of Himachal (with '5 Elements', ‘Unchi Ridiyaan’) and a passion for animal rights (with ‘Bobby Song’). The band has subsequently added Pankaj and Hursh to create a unique sound that has developed a strong following among people who are looking for music with meaning and resonates with those that care for depth in lyrics.
The band is now working with Pankaj Mullick, who is the founder of Art Collide, an art collaborative organisation and platform that creates immersive experiences through collisions of various artistic disciplines (music with video art, in this case).

“Anantara’s sound has the unique quality of transporting people to worlds full of emotions - be it compassion, joy, love, remorse or passion - and Art Collide is creating the visual layer on these constructs with visuals that grip audiences. We’ve had people sit entranced, forgetting their phones and give up on distractions that tend to take them away from enjoying the magic of performing arts. Think of it like an aid to getting to the state of Zen,” says Pankaj, who has worked with the Kuru Circus, Tritha, Space, Big Bang Blues, Sameer Hazari and several other visual and performing artists.
Over time, “Anantara: The Art Collide Experience” will be adding more layers to the performance piece with dance, projection mapping, live glass painting and collaborations with a renowned jazz pianist already in the works.

“We pour our heart and soul in creating and performing our music and we want to do everything in our power to keep the attention of our audiences riveted so we can share our passion with them. We are responding to a world whose attention is growing increasingly fragmented and missing out on the joy of paying undivided attention to the joy that music brings,” says Vikrant.

With that in mind, Anantara and Art Collide say they are committed to innovating with their performances as they respond to the changing expectations of audiences.
