Information about the album Karmah
Karmah combines heavy duty riff rock from the nu-metal era with distinct Indian elements like the Sitar and soaring vocals heavily reminiscent of the Eighties when all rock singers seemed hell-bent on punching holes in the stratosphere with their voice.

Karmah comprises 7 tracks with the title track setting the tone for the band’s new musical statement. An Eastern Sitar intro makes way for a big, kicking riff with Dean’s vocals exploring the upper register during the chorus and climbing down during the verses. The hush-to-howl dynamic recalls the Seattle revolution at its finest and is one of Punkh’s strongest moments on the album. ‘Maahia’ is more uptempo with a sludgy guitar sound and Dean’s vocals floating eerily out of the mix. ‘Ghoom Le’ with its sitar-like drone in the beginning is an instantly accessible slice of hook-laden modern rock and ‘Insaan’ rides on an insistent guitar riff.

The album also features two heart touching ballads 'Tanhaa' and 'Nashaa', sure Punkh’s latest clutch of original tunes, Karmah is a distillation of the varied musical experiences that Deepak ‘Dean’ Nair, the frontman of Punkh has soaked up during his time while studying music in Germany.
