About the play : How would be Robinson Crusoe’s island nowadays? What would happen to him if he would decide to come back, years later, to see what changed? This is the starting point of a radio script written by CortĆ”zar in which he expresses his thoughts on the globalization and the development in modern times, through Daniel Defoe’s characters: Robinson Crusoe and Friday.
About the director : Varoon P. Anand came to New Delhi in October 2009, after three years of serving at the Theatre Guild of Ancon in Panama. The community theatre ground his artistic roots towards the idea of serving the people around him, along with personal achievement to explore the world through art. Varoon has been taught by Patricia Quinn, Danielle Miles, Alex Broun and several Delhi masters including Ashwath Bhatt, Sunit Sinha, Shashwat Shrivastava, Vaishali Chakravarty, Kuljeet Singh, Gilles Chuyen and Ishwar Shunya. He also studies under the guidance of Atul Kumar’s The Company Theatre and Rajat Kapoor’s Cinematograph in Mumbai. Varoon P. Anand is the Artistic Director of Kaivalya Plays and hopes to continue teaching and performing in the capital for the foreseeable future.
