Event Description : Atelier in collaboration with The Arshinagar Project presents "If It Be Now" a solo performance based on fragments and impressions of Hamlet. The piece lasts about forty minutes and is based on various impressions of Hamlet from writers such as Pasternak, Heiner Muller, Jan Kott and others, referencing the original text only minimally. It is a psycho-physical meditation, a quest for one-self in the mirror of Hamlet, hovering between structure and improvisation. It looks, not for meaning or a message, but at experience - at an utterly human Hamlet, trapped inside a prison of words, giving birth to him in the immediacy of the now, responding as much to the physical space and the presence of the watchers, as to the universe of Hamlet.
