Event Description : "Aradhana" an evening of Odissi recital by Paulami Guha coming from a culturally-rich family, Paulami was drawn towards the art of dance & music since childhood and took her first lessons in dance at the tender age of five. She received her initial training in oriental form of dance under the guidance of Guru Valmiki Bannerjee, a noted choreographer and performer.
Later, Paulami took specialized training in ‘Odissi’, one of the most elegant forms of classical dance under the tutelage of late Guru Srinath Raut, in Deba Prasad Das style. She further received advanced training from renowned Guru Shri Hare Krishna Behera.

Paulami has presented Odissi recitals on several forums at different parts of the country and beyond the country’s border and has each time mesmerised her audience with her stunning, soulful performance. She was also featured as an Odissi dancer in a television documentary film, ‘Dances of India’, that was directed by eminent dance exponents Padma Bhushan Raja and Radha Reddy.

Her deep-rooted cultural values and her association with dance over the last three decades have helped her to develop fine teaching skills to become an inspiration to young talents. Through her performances and her goal-oriented workshops & lectures, Paulami has persistently made efforts towards the cultural revival amongst the Indian youth. These constructive efforts and her dancing skills have been appreciated by press critics in different leading newspapers and magazines.

A rare combination of a flawless dancer, choreographer, a classical singer, research scholar and a committed teacher, Paulami strongly believes instilling our values in the young minds is the only way to preserve our priceless traditional culture for shaping a better cultural future.
