The mandatory Corporate Social Responsibility provisions in the Companies Act 2013 provides for training and activities including volunteering for projects relating to Environment. " Ensuring environmental sustainability, ecological balance, protection of flora and fauna, animal welfare, agro forestry, conservation of natural resources and maintain quality of soil, air and water"
ReplyDeleteOur upcoming workshop is aimed at Corporate executives including designated CSR executives to understand the existing scenario in area of Environment related projects in India and especially in the NCR area. There are three speakers who are going to talk about the projects being implemented by them with the help of citizen volunteers.
Prashant Mahahjan from EarthWatch Institute will be talking about their citizen science research project studying the role of bees in pollinating apple orchards.
Vivek Menon will be talking about the various wildlife protection projects Wildlife Trust of India has been implementing in various parts of the country.
Manu Bhatangar will present a case study of the resurrection of Haus Khaz lake in Delhi. He will also talk about the plans of INTACH to revive other water bodies in the NCR area.
